Who was the villain in “A Sacrificial Escape”? What’s going to happen to Jones and Parker? Will Wooton and Penny be in the next album? Will you release the unreleased episodes? The team answers your questions!

January 1st, 2020

Executive producer Dave Arnold, producer Nathan Hoobler, and writers/directors Phil Lollar, and Marshal Younger look back at Album 67: More than Meets the Eye and look ahead to Album 68. Bonus: hear an audio preview of 68!

Album 66: Trial by Fire

After years of searching for his true identity, Buck Oliver may finally get some answers. But along with clues about his family, he also is subjected to the dangers of his past. Buck’s old mentor Mr. Skint arrives in town with an offer that would take Buck away from Odyssey for good. Elsewhere, Connie feels unappreciated when Jules starts looking up to new roommate Jillian more than her own sister. And the crew at B-TV chart a course deep into the ocean to learn more about the concept of the Trinity. Dramatic conclusions and fresh beginnings abound in these six entertaining and inspiring adventures in Odyssey!

Album 67: More than Meets the EyeAlbum 67: More than Meets the Eye

When Emily and Matthew find themselves trapped inside an unfinished escape room in the basement of Whit’s End, their only way out is to follow the clues to unlock the steel door before time runs out. Meanwhile new wide receiver Buck Oliver faces some unexpected challenges on the way to the high school football state championship when the team hires a new assistant coach – Eugene Meltsner. Across town, Connie Kendall’s wedding planning business becomes more complicated than she ever imagined when a family member raises suspicions about the groom’s past. Don’t
miss a single twist or turn in these six adventure-filled stories.

Album 68: Out of the BlueAlbum 68: Out of the Blue – releasing on the Club now!

Jaws drop and eyes are opened at the surprises happening around the town of Odyssey. Everyone is finding or learning something unexpected! When Connie’s roommate Jillian sets out to find a job, the hunt takes her all over town. But whether it’s destroying a window display at Triple J Antiques, causing chaos at Odyssey General Hospital, or trying her hand at meteorology, she just can’t catch a break. Will she ever find the perfect fit for her unique skills? Meanwhile, Penny and Wooton have a wonderful surprise to share when her parents come for a visit – if they can ever find the right time to tell them. And Wyatt resorts to using extraordinary methods when he uses a lie detector to show his sister Bridget how much he misses hanging out with her. But the biggest surprises won’t be revealed until you listen to these six adventures. Don’t miss a single twist, turn, or bombshell in Odyssey!

    So, I just noticed that on this podcast, the description for album 68: Out of the Blue is the description for Album 66: Trial By Fire.

  • Anonymous on January 1st, 2020 - 7:30pm

    The description of album 68 is the description of another album, I think it’s album 66 Trial by Fire just the wording is kinda different…

  • Gisela on January 2nd, 2020 - 7:55pm

    @SHONNAK
    I am pretty sure they were quite serious about Jillian’s age. I still view Jillian as at least a few years younger than Connie. I guess they wanted to make Jillian’s age closer to Jason’s so that if they want to write them as a couple, the age gap would not be too much.

  • jaysmouse on January 2nd, 2020 - 9:12pm

    I totally would have thought that Jillian was younger than Connie.

    Random Odyssey Thought: If/when Wooton and Penny have kids, I feel like they should have boy and girl twins. That would be perfect for Wooton and Penny! Just a little more craziness in their crazy life.
    Anyway, happy 2020! I hope it’s a good year for everyone.

Is your grandmother a Christian? My grandparents were. If she is remember your just crying for yourself because your grandmother will be in heaven. There she wont have any more pain or any heartache. I will be praying for you in this difficult time. It means so much when someone says there praying for you!

    @Cal
    Okay, I understand that.
    It is my opinion that she is at least thirty because she moved to Odyssey when she was 15, and when her Dad came to visit her in the episode Father’s Day she was at least 16. Her father had gotten remarried, but not to Jules’ mom.
    So if Connie was maybe 18 when Jules was born, and now Jules is 15, that puts Connie at the age of 33. So from a mathematical viewpoint, Connie has to be 30 or older.
    That’s just my opinion.
    And Odyssey time is different than real time.

    And yes, I have read “Making Brothers and Sisters Best Friends”, and as an oldest sister myself, I’ve found it so helpful. I haven’t read “Before you Meet Prince Charming”, but I read the book description, and based on that I’d say it’s probably more for older teens… like right before dating age.

    In the New Year.

    Make Jesus your friend.

    He will be there always.

    He will never leave you alone.

    Sometimes you will hear silence.

    That doesn’t mean He isn’t there.

    You will have to listen closely.

    But you will hear Him.

    Sometimes His voice is a whisper.

    Sometime He will have to shout.

    To be heard over the chaos.

    He is there.

    COUNTRY GIRL,
    I LOVE your username! I am a country girl and proud of it. And yes, the Seven Sleepers are by Gilbert Morris. I know he wrote a TON of other books, but those are the only ones I have read. They are pretty good! My favorite is probably The Winged Raiders of the Desert, #5 in the Seven Sleeper series. You should totally read them! Have you read the Wingfeather Sagas by Andrew Peterson or the Knights of Arrethtrae by Chuck Black? I highly recommend them!

    As silly as it might sound, I love the Toy Story movies! My mom thought I’d outgrow them someday, but I actually went to a theater in the summer to see the fourth because I love them so much!

  • country girl on January 9th, 2020 - 7:01am

    @ Aquarium, I will have to look into the Seven Sleepers. You should look into bonnets and bugles. Their the only series I have read by Gilbert Morris. I’m pround of being a “country girl” too!
    Texas boy, Emily is a little immature to me. I think Jay is really funny. That sounds neat having a cattle farm. Does your whole family help with the farm?

    @ Everyone, Do any of y’all like hunting or trapping? I have shot squirrels and helped my dad trap a raccoon (which we ate!:),and I Love fishing too. Y’all probably knew some of this with my username being “Country Girl”!
    My friends brother has trapped foxes and tanned the hides and is now selling them. WE have a lot of foxes, deer, squirrels, coyotes, and even have seen a bear in our woods!

    Yes, I do ride. I am riding a Quarter Horse mix right now (I think she’s a mix, she might be full bred.) My family has an alfalfa farm, but we own a few cows as well. What breed(s) of horses do you have? I’m assuming you ride Western. I do too! I ride all over (on the road, trail, in an arena, in the pasture). My family has one of everything. Yes!! I’m so excited for the warriors movie. I just looked it up. Looks like it’ll release in 2023. I just looked up the voices. There’s a bunch I don’t recognize, like Logan Paul as Firepaw. but Tom Holland as Ravenpaw and Dwayne Johnson as Lionheart!! PERFECTION. That’s totally how I would imagine their voices!

  • country girl on January 10th, 2020 - 8:34am

    My favorite movies are Fireproof, and Facing The Giants by the Kendrick brothers. I also enjoy the Mandie movies. Their based off the books by Lois Gladdys Leppard. My whole family likes Charlie Chan movies on youtube. They all involve a murder. Some are scarier than others.

Also I noticed lots of people don’t like Emily, she’s not my favorite character but I think she fits her part well and is a nice girl. Some people might come across as a snob but really they just maybe feel unsure of themselves sometimes so they come across different from who they really are inside. Texas Cowboy, I enjoy Gilbert Morris’ Bonnets and Bugles book series. My favorite animal are horses even though we don’t have any. I like Lawson Bates music, Casting Crowns, and also Zach Williams. As for tv shows we watch a lot of black and white shows(Andy Griffith, Leave it to Beaver, Rifleman, Petticoat Junction, Ozzie and Harriet, Roy Rogers, …the list can go on!) I like all season for different reasons (spring-plants bloom, Summer-swimming, Church Camp, Fall- leaves change hunting TBC

We live on a mountain out in the country but don’t have farm animals or anything yet. Our property is mostly wooded, which is great for hunting but not gardening, farming, exc. Although we might get goats, chickens and rabbits one day. We also want to put a pond on our property to fish. Do y’all have a pond?

    yes i do want to be a vet and i did know how much school was involved, i do train horses mostly for my families ranch i mostly do the first ride mostly because the other cowboys want to be in one piece at the end of the day, so they say let the kid ride’em i don’t want do break my back. but i really like training horse, because it is really rewording,and i really like training horses for other people,because they see point A. and point C. but what they don’t see is point B

    .. AND what it took to get there, and when they take the horse back and they hand you your pay check and shake your hand and say good job on a job well done,it reminds me what i should live for when and what i want The Lord Jesus to say, well done my good and faithful servant.

    .. @ A.Q so..about being a vet i forgot to say this on my last post that i’m going to a vet on my family’s cattle ranch(and the vet for the other ranches in the area)because our local vet that we have right now is going to be retiring in two or three years. okay so i’m just curious why would you not survive being a vet? any particulate reason?i’m sorry if i sound rude i’m just wondering.

    @COUNTRY GIRL,
    We do youth group at our church but the boys and girls sit separately. The guys are pretty normal…. They don’t act weird toward the girls really. Most the guys in my youth group I’ve known since I was born though. I understand why your dad wouldn’t want you to go though because of what you said.

    TEXAS COWBOY,
    Don’t worry about being rude. 😉 And I wouldn’t survive being a vet because:
    1) I don’t like science.
    2) I don’t like too much blood. A little I can handle. A lot makes me queasy.
    3) I would find it very hard to preform surgeries, cut off infected areas, and especially to put animals down. I’m too soft that way. 🙂
    The area where I live has quite a few vets, but the best one (that got people from all over the country coming to him) retired.)

    Country Girl,
    I do go to a Youth Group, but it’s not at my church. I moved to where I am now a few years ago, so I don’t know a lot of the people in the group. I don’t really talk to the guys, but they are all (mostly) nice and considerate. We don’t talk about that kind of thing a lot and we usually end up sitting separately. 🙂

  • Whit Fan #1 on January 16th, 2020 - 2:28pm

    COUNTRY GIRL: Our Youth Group is very small. There are usually just six kids (sometimes just 5 or 4). Two being my brother and me. Two being my cousins. So it’s very small.

    @COUNTRY GIRL
    Our church finally just started a youth group and I’ll be attending soon. The guys at my church don’t act strangely, but if they did, I doubt I would even consider going. I understand why your dad doesn’t want you to go…sometimes there are weirdos out there. Your dad is trying to do what’s right for you and that’s very good!

    Okay, this is completely off subject, but I would totally love to go to Florida next year. Anybody have any travel/tourism suggestions?

  • Jell-O on January 18th, 2020 - 8:50am

    @#YOUTUBER
    My family is planning a Florida vacation for March! I’m not familiar with the area, but one place that comes to mind is the Lazy River. It kind out winds and loops around, and you can go tubing and swimming! (I love swimming, even though I’m not very good at it!) It’s in the Destin area.

    @COUNTRY GIRL:
    I go to youth group. It’s very small and is made up of me, my brother, 4 other boys, and 5 other girls. We sit together, but it’s nothing weird. My youth leader has dealt severely with any “problems” we’ve had with our boys. The others I don’t need to worry about.

    COOLCUZ, that’s nice. That’s the other thing, if I had a brother to go with me and protect me I might go but not by myself. We have a huge Church so our youth group is very large.

  • Aquarium on January 27th, 2020 - 12:02pm

    My church is TINY, but it’s in another town. My youth group is in the town I live in, and I’m not sure how big their church is. There hasn’t been any of those kinds of problems that I am aware of, but I joined in August or something.

    I actually liked the “where is odessy” gag.
    We should ask it all the time lol
    I just want it to be a running thing throughout podcasts now! My sister and I have this as a joke now “where odessy?” “INSERT PLACE HERE”!
