We are currently putting together an Adventures in Odyssey devotional book and we need your help! We want to answer some questions about topics that you might have. The first two are salvation and prayer. Have you ever wondered any questions about salvation or prayer that we could answer in the book? For example, do you ever wonder why we say “amen” at the end of our prayers?

    Why do we pray for some of the same things every time we pray; doesn’t God here us the first time. Also why do we ask other people to pray for the same prayer request if we already pray for it. And God knows our hearts so it isn’t like God wants us to do these things in oder for us to know that we really have faith and care about what were praying about. One more thing is it sinful or unfaithful to ask for salvation over and over again.

    Is amen supposed to mean something along the lines of the final word, or agreed? Or maybe The End? Because in the Book of Common Prayer, after the list of things that humanity have done wrong, the congregation all says Amen after each sentence. But then we all say it after we pray…maybe it’s one of those words that has a vague general range of meanings that people know without asking. Someone else’s thoughts?

    Hi! I’ve always wondered how you REALLY know how your saved. I mean I’ve been saved two or three times, and when the pastor asks if there is any one who hasn’t been saved, I always think I need to do it “just to be sure”.

    If your praying and you stop, and weight for an ancer, das it qualiphy as the end of the prayer and when you speek agen, it starts agen? Or das it realy matter? God saise to spend time with him. What das that mean exactly? Is it just praying, or is it reading your bible, or anything you do when your thinking about him? I would like to know What you guys at adventures in odyssey think.     Why do we pray if God already has everything planned out. For example if you had a friend sick with cancer why would you ask god to heal him/her if he already knows what he is going to do.

    Amen is an exclamation expressing agreement with a statement. At the end of a prayer it expresses the genuineness or truth of the petition or praise. Amen means “truly” One of God’s names is “The Amen, the Faithful and True Witness” (Rev 3:14). That is why we say Amen

    I have a question about prayer.I have been praying and praying for something for a long time and finally the exact thing happen that I had been praying for.I was soo excited I started practising and practising but then more info came out.It said that only people in the USA could enter.This hit me with such a blow,I burstout crying!All I wanted was a chance,but it didn’t happen.But I am still trusting that they give me a chance.

    Some of you have been asking (Very important) questions like this:
    Why do we pray anyway when God already knows our needs?
    The reason we pray is that we become closer to God. I doubt we would be talking to God if everything we needed just appeared without us asking for it. God wants us to have a voice, He wants us to tell Him what we want. Thats how we’re gonna get closer to God. Prayer. There is this book that my mom is reading, and one of the stories and points that He tries to make throughout the entire book is this: Talk to God, and ask for what you want. (That isn’t selfish.) God has soooo much He wants to give us, but most of the time we don’t even ask Him cause we think thats to big or its selfish. Why did God give us desires?? Why did God make it all, just not to give it to us?? He wants us to have it all as His Children. Be specific when you pray to God! Tell him what you want. Like for instance, you want a desk for your bedroom, but you cant afford it. You ask God for “Just a desk.” Getting frustrated months later that God hasn’t answered this prayer, you ask Him: “Why aren’t you answering me?? I don’t understand.” And God answers back: “Your being WAY to vague. What kind of desk do you want?? What kind of wood will it be? What color?” (This is a true story…The guy I believe a month or two later receives the exact desk he’d prayed for! Isn’t that amazing?!) So thats a big reason why we pray!!! (1# to get closer to God and form a wonderful relationship with Him, 2# One of the reason’s why our prayers sometimes aren’t answered is because God wants us to be more specific, and tell Him what we want. After all, thats what He wants, To give us what we were always born to have. Are prayers are always answered, but sometimes in ways we didn’t ask.) Hope that helps!!

    Everyone tells me that I should talk to God like a friend. I certainly understand that He loves me and is my Father, but He is Almighty, the Supreme Ruler, King of the Universe. Therefore, shouldn’t there be more respect and submission going on during each prayer time? Not that you should be distant and cold, but it seems like you need to be more respectful during prayer. What is the proper balance here? Does the Bible say anything about this?

    DANIELLE, answers to your question.

    God wants to give you salvation because He simply loves you,and some people have trouble knowing what love is and the answer is God, God is love, and Love is physical verb not a feeling or word.

    Why would God want you to pray to Him? Well let me first tell you what prayer is. Prayer is not you talking to God, it a conversation with God, you talk to Him and He talks back, but sometimes it take some time to listen to what He has to say.

    Hey i got first comment after all!

    We pray to God because he is our friend and we love Him. If you love someone, you will want to be with them and talk to them. When we love God, we will make time for Him, so we can be with Him. When we pray, we are having a conversation with Him. It is also important to not just make prayer requests. To thank Him, make requests, and *listen* to Him, because after all, when you hve a canversation, you BOTH talk, not just you.

    I definitly can’t answer all your quesions, but i do know why we go to church on Sunday not the Sabbath. Origionaly Saturday (sabath) was when we went to church. That was bc of God creating the universe in 6 days and resting on teh 7th (sat) when Jesus died and resurected, that was the most important event EVER for us Christians. Jesus opened the gates to heaven. We changed the Sabbath to Sunday, because Sunday is even more important and even more special, so we wanted to praise God (eve

    There’s so many questions I want to answer, but I wanted to comment on Abigail’s. Even if you sin, Jesus will cover it with His blood. Though it grieves Him when we sin against Him, He will cover it. If you are truly a born again child of God, your sin is covered through the blood of Christ. No matter of sin will change that. Only unbelief will cause you not to be born again. Romans 6 gives a good overview of being dead to sin. I hope this helps.

    So, sin separates us from God, so sinners that don’t repent and aren’t saved are separated from God, right? But then why do we see really good things happening to people who are unsaved if God is not with them?
    Also, when God flooded the world in Noah’s time because the people were so sinful, isn’t the world today just as bad or worse?

    I know that a sin is a sin, even if we think someone else’s sin is worse, but if someone murdered someone and another person took a cookie without asking, wouldn’t the person who murdered someone get punished more severely by God?

    just my oppinion, i think you should start this devotional book by describing what “prayer and salvation” is it seem some people don’t have a clear view on it. like prayer for example, praying is not talking to God, but taking with God and i think it is important for your readers to know that.

    I think you should talk about angels. What does the Bible say about angels besides when angels visited people such as Joseph and Mary? Do we all have our own guardian angel? Do only saved people have angels watching over them? Etc.

    Abigail, if you are baptized, believe in Jesus and love him, then you are a christian. I don’t know where you got that idea of yours, it’s down-right baloney. Of course you will still sin. It the sin nature of man. And of course you should ask God’s forgiveness, and of course he’ll forgive you. Just don’t let that go as an excuse.

    Ok, I already know the answer to this one, but it really is a good question.
    Why did Jesus have to die? Couldn’t God just snap his fingers and take away our sin?
    I think I heard that in one of the Odyssey eppisodes somewhere. 🙂

    How can I constantly be in prayer and thinking about God? Most often, I find myself totaly forgetting about Him in all the craziness of the day. Is there a way to be constantly thinking about Him without having to stay locked up in my room all day? 🙂

    Brooke- Yes God does love us a ton!… But, God is Also a just God. We don’t deserve to go to heaven, we deserve a lot worse! BUT, God shows mercy on us if we confess HIM as our Lord.- I hoped this helped:)

    God has given us free will. Alot of christains say that everything is Gods will, whether good or bad, but biblically that’s not true. God can’t have control over everything AND let us have free will. It’s not Gods will for anyone to go to hell or for anyone to have cancer. God has actually given Us authority over the devil and all his works. (A good example is Mark 11)

    God doesn’t send anyone to hell. God is good and cannot tolerate evil. God is just,we have sinned, and therefore must be punished. God loved us so much that he gave everything to save us from eternal death and separation from him. He gave his own beloved Son. We have a way out of hell now thanks to His sacrifice.     Why is it that the Bible is “open to individual interpretation” in protestantism? God could only have meant one thing, not a million and one. “Free interpretation” is just the easy way out as it makes you free to do whatever you want, and still be “following” the Bible.

    I think that kids need help with using prayer as a tool to get us through tough times! I mean most “Christian” kids pray but do they ask god for help throughout their day and then do they praise him for answering them. Do we realize that god’s will will be done and that all thing work together for the good of those who love god and are called according to his purposes? Growing up is hard and we need help from god, we need to know how to find peace in god’s help!

    I’ve got a question.

    How do you REALLY know if you are a christian? You’ve said the prayer, believe in Jesus but still don’t know if you are TRULY saved and will go to heaven. I sometimes am not really sure if I am going to heaven. It kinda scares me to think about it since I don’t want to go to hell! Sometimes I feel really close to God then other times it scares me when I realize I don’t feel close at all!

    Also when he told people to kill people it was for there protection. they were killing an enemy or a threat to them. So God again was just telling them to protect themselves. 🙂

As soon as your able to understand your sins you are acountible for your choices…incuding if you follow God or not. It is sad when a child or teen dies…even sadder if they die without God.     No name: Did you ask Jesus to come into your heart?? Do you believe that He is your creator and savior? That he died for you, and loves you? These are REALLY good questions, seriously. Don’t feel bad at all for being bothered about them. I am a christian, and I don’t always feel close to God. But thats okay, sometimes theres a lull. Just because you don’t feel close to God doesn’t mean your going to hell. No, no!! In the bible it there are so many stories, (mostly in psalms) where people are just in soo much pain and are absolutely crying out to God for help. Crying to be near Him and to be close. There are going to be quiet times in our faith where we don’t feel close to God, or are upset, or don’t understand at all, but God is with us, and always reaching out to us. He loves us soooo terribly much. He wants us to come to Him for everything, cause He’s all we need. Don’t be afraid. I think your doin okay. God’s with you wherever you go, and He definitely cares about where you’re going when you die. He made Heaven for you!! About your parents….They’re just blind to all this good stuff. Don’t let them dampen your spirits about God. Don’t let anyone ever get in the way of you and Him. No matter what people say. Need anything else, or have any other questions? I’d love to help.     to be saved is not toj ust believe but to accept jesus as your lord and saviour. Do you got a Bible? i have a verse for you Acts 2:38 and since you are a new christian i would suggest to start reading your Bible and start at John in the New Testament.

    I’ve felt that way before. I’ve wondered how I can trust the opinion of my family when I know they’ll always say something nice. You ARE beautiful to God. And the most important thing Mary, is that your beautiful inside. Cause thats where it really counts. And trust me, its sooo shows when your beautiful inside. Don’t turn to the worlds perspective of beauty. It isn’t true. They have it SOOO whacked. I know how tough this is. Especially in a world where there’s magazines everywhere, telling you who the most beautiful woman is, or how you have to look to be popular, beautiful and important to people. There’s HUGE billboards, movies and cemertials, quizzes and so many other things, telling you if your beautiful or not. And they’re all wrong. You cant find beauty in the things of the world. There’s a bible verse in 1 Peter that I think you should see:
    “But let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.” 1 Peter 3:4. Hear that? In God’s sight it is VERY precious. Somewhere in Song of Solomon it says: “You are all together beautiful, My love; there is no flaw in you.” Thats God talking to you Mary. Accept HIS opinion of you, and don’t let the world make you think other things. Your beautiful and very precious to God. (He made every little thing about you, how can he not adore you?!)

    Is it okay if I (kinda) answer some of your questions?? Here’s a few answers: Your questions: Can a normal everyday kid heal the sick? Answer: Yes! God can so do that. People are getting healed all the time, and children have so much faith. They just believe, no second guessing. God can most definitely use kids, teens and adults to heal people.
    Your question: What about Visions? Answer: Yes, visions are a thing today. God’s given my best friend a vision, and my brother. He talks through visions, and boy are they important!!

    There’s another thing… about the unforgivable sin. I would never purposely blaspheme the holy spirit, but ever sinse i read that verse, the devil’s put words in my head agains him.     @serna, we read the Bible because it’s God’s word. He not only commands us through prayer, but also through his word. His word is our guide to live a Christian life. It might be tough to understand at first, but if you ask for God’s wisdom for what he wants you to learn, and soon you’ll understand it. You get what I’m saying?

    @Janessa – My mom also had a miscarriage when I was little. Actually it was something different, but still I often wonder why. I’m an only child right now and so I sometimes wonder about these things. But there’s this verse in Proverbs 3:19 – The LORD by wisdom founded the earth;
    by understanding he established the heavens;
    And so this shows us that God had everything that happens to us planned out before we were born, when he was creating the earth! And all His decisions are perfect, they are..

    @Dakota – When you’re genuinely saved you cannot disown Jesus. If someone “was saved” and then turned away that means that he wasn’t saved in the first place. So when Jesus is in our hearts, no one and nothing can separate us from Him and his love 🙂

    @Karasea – Hey… That’s a very good question you ask. That’s something I sometimes struggle with myself. And actually there are ways that you can know that you’re saved. I once used to look at my past and seek for the exact moment when I got saved. But that didn’t work. It only got me more discouraged and depressed, because I couldn’t remember “the moment”. Especially when you were raised in a Christian family, you may not know the exact time and place. I don’t. But if you want to know if……

    …you’re saved you have to look at what your life looks right now. Do you love God’s Word? Do you obey Jesus and live to please Him? Did your life change? Do you want to serve Him and await His return? These are some questions you probably need to ask yourself. And you can’t mess up getting saved if I can even say that 😀 If you ask God to forgive you your sins, with a repentant heart and ask Him to change you, you’re saved 😀 And there’s no sense doubting your salvation when you can enjoy it!

    @ Lauren L. – Hey girl.. 😀 You asked a good question. And the answer is that if you are truly saved, you cannot lose your salvation. Every Christian doubts sometimes and sometimes may even question if Christianity is true at all, but God doesn’t abandon his children. Everyone stumbles sometimes, but God is merciful and forgives us our failures to trust him. In fact if your wondering about this you should read John 17 (I love this chapter) and Isaiah 40-41. These are just some encouraging verses

    @Joy – It’s great you want to know God better, but actually God doesn’t speak to us directly now, not since the time of the Apostles. And if you want to get to know the LORD, it’s only through His word. While you read it, this is hearing from God! He teaches you things through his Word, encourages you and strengthens you when you feel weak. So if you want to hear from God, dig into his Word and pray for understanding – and if you’re saved, God will reveal Himself to you,

    @Joy: Oh I soooo want to get to know you! You are so normal! Don’t be upset with yourself, I think every christian has gone through those exact feelings! God speaks in sooo many different ways, Joy. Through other people’s words that He’s given them about you, through His word (the bible) through dreams, (Which is where God usually talks to me.) sometimes your outside and you see a word written in the snow, and you know it was meant for you. (From God.) Hearing God is the most amazing thing ever, and He wants us to hear Him. I know a lot of people have different theory’s about God speaking, and I don’t want to offend anyone else, but I know God speaks, NOT just from the bible. You are so like me! You practically said everything I’ve done myself. You are not missing something, we just need to learn how to hear him. I’m learning that right now.     @Elwynois, Im not completely positive, no. I had a situation a year ago where I knew what I had done was wrong, but after I’d told my mom about it, and we’d prayed, I was continually reminded of it, and felt sick inside. I believe that after you’ve asked God for forgiveness, (and if needed talk to a parent, or whoever you should talk to) and its out on the table, and you’ve been forgiven, we shouldn’t feel guilty about it. The guilt that comes after that is not your conscience. Its the enemy trying to guilt trip you when you’ve already been forgiven and washed clean. Does that help at all?? Was that kinda what you meant?

    Number 138: Don’t sweat it. There’s no harm in asking questions.
    Yes I have had visions. And yes, we would prefer not to share them publicly. They are very important to our family, and they’re kinda private. (I hope you understand.) We have had visions as long as 15 years ago that are just now coming to pass. To help you understand visions better, (cause I don’t really know what you know about them.) they can happen whenever. At night, and even in the middle of the day. They are extremely important things that God trust to give us. On a very important level. Yes, some of them have happened, and some haven’t. Yet.

    Hope this answered some of your questions. Just ask if there’s something else you were wondering about. Also, you should look up Daniel 10. (in the bible.) Read it, it’ll probably answer some of your questions.

    As it says in the bible, God is the same yesterday, today and forever! Which means that He’s still giving visions today. He’s not going to change that.

    Here’s the answer the the question you asked, Number 138. 🙂

    Number 138: Don’t sweat it. There’s no harm in asking questions.
    Yes I have had visions. And yes, we would prefer not to share them publicly. They are very important to our family, and they’re kinda private. (I hope you understand.) We have had visions as long as 15 years ago that are just now coming to pass. To help you understand visions better, (cause I don’t really know what you know about them.) they can happen whenever. At night, and even in the middle of the day. They are extremely important things that God trust to give us. On a very important level. Yes, some of them have happened, and some haven’t. Yet.

    Hope this answered some of your questions. Just ask if there’s something else you were wondering about. Also, you should look up Daniel 10. (in the bible.) Read it, it’ll probably answer some of your questions.

    As it says in the bible, God is the same yesterday, today and forever! Which means that He’s still giving visions today. He’s not going to change that.

    I was just looking over some of the comments you’ve said about dreams and visions, and I agree. God definitely gives visions to people at times and for reasons He chooses. But I have been struggling with something, and would like to know what you think. How can we tell the difference between something God is showing us, and our own delusions? What tells us it’s from God, or what tells us that it’s just our minds playing tricks on us?

    Number 138:
    Well I’ve had visions at night and in the day time, but for me its usually at night. (I don’t just decide myself if I think its a vision. If I’ve had a dream/vision that I know is important, I talk to my parents about it. And my mom has the gift of being able to interpret dreams, so that really helps.)

    We have had some of our visions come true, yes. And I cant really say if they don’t happen, cause they might later on, ya know? God gives us visions for a reason, to show us things He’s trusted us with, and I think usually its of things that are going to happen, or might happen if this or this happens. Make sense?

    Here’s the two most important things about knowing if its God speaking, or if its our minds, or a word from the enemy:
    First, if you are shown/hear or see something that you are curious where its from, check if it lines up to what the bible says. If it contradict’s what the bible says, then you can be pretty sure it wasn’t from God.

    Second: Ask God! Why not bring Him into the mix? (after all, the word might be from Him! And its always important to bring God into your decisions/thoughts, you get the point.) And then, ask your parents. Verify the word with the people you trust. The people you know will have that understanding. (If its not your parents, then your pastor, or an older mentor.)

    Hmm….Good question. Well I think you’ll know when its a vision, or something important from God. (not that your imagining isn’t important.) Visions are things that God gives us, and our own imagining isn’t really the same as a vision at all. Can you give me an example? An example would REALLY help me….cuz Im having a hard time putting all of this together…

    Sorry, I didn’t see your comment till now.
    Well God can still be speaking to us through things that might not be perfect, or beautiful. Sometimes he needs to show us some things that might not be pretty, in order for us to know whats happening, and to show us that there is a way to change it. Does that make sense? I had a dream a few weeks ago, which was disturbing to me, and when I brought it to my parents, they told me what it meant, and Im so glad I know!

    Because there were things going on that we’re confirmed through that dream, and have helped our family greatly. Now we actually know this thing exists, and we can change it! But again, Roa, I think it would be best if you, as I said above, confirm what you’ve heard or seen with someone that might be wiser than you spiritually, and could help you. Its always good to confirm with God, and two or three other people you trust.

    And if this “thing” really contradicts what the bible says, than you know its not from God, and as our family says: “It was a flushing dream/thought.” Which means to let it go! Forget it, and don’t think about it anymore. 🙂 Does this help??

    Yes, that did help, thanks. 🙂 But, I guess the confusing thing to me, is that I DID ask people that I trusted, people that were wiser, and God. Here’s what I got. From the people that were wiser–these were dream interpretors like your mom says she can do–they said that the dreams I’ve had WERE from God, but they didn’t know of the actual meaning for sure.     my friends said that the dreams were from God, and they confirmed what I thought they (the dreams) meant. Then when I prayed to God about it, asking him if the dreams were literal dreams, or if they were figurative or whatever, it really seemed like He showed me that the dreams were literal. Because the day I was asking Him, He gave me a dream that came true the very next day. And then the day after that, He gave me another dream that came true the very next day as well!

And the fact that I kept having the dreams–like, I’ve had a total of maybe 25+ :P–just seemed to be saying that it would come true eventually. But it’s just so confusing…

    Okay, long story short, I kept having these dreams where I met a friend of mine. This friend was my best friend in the world EVER. And we had never met personally, we were really just penpals. So I had these dreams where I’d meet that person, and I kept having them over and over and over. I mean, I must have had 20 something dreams about it. 😛 And it all looked like the dreams really were from God. Continued…

    But then something happened–I’d rather not say what–and now I’ll never be friends with my best friend again. This isn’t something like we got into a fight, or anything like that. It’s literally over. Just “the end.” So now that we aren’t friends anymore, it’s obvious that those dreams weren’t from God, because they aren’t going to happen. But the confusing thing was that EVERYTHING made me think that those dreams were from God. Let me explain what I mean by “everything.”

    1) The fact that I kept on having the dreams seemed to say that they were from God. I mean, if I only had one dream like that, I would probably think it was just me, but I kept having them. Different dreams, but in each dream the same thing happened.
    2) I asked God about it, and then He gave me 2 dreams that literally came true the very next day. That seemed to say that the dreams WERE from God, and that they would come true soon.

    3) I asked people wiser than me, and they said the dreams were in fact from God, but they didn’t know what the dreams meant. But they confirmed that they WERE from God. After I talked to them, I talked to God and he gave me those 2 dreams that came true the next day, so that seemed to be saying that the dreams I had been having were from God and that they would come true.

    Are you beginning to see my delima here? Everything seemed to point to the dreams being real, but then, I found out that they weren’t real because they would never happen.

    So my question is, how was I to know that the dreams weren’t from God? When everything pointed to them being from God, what should have been telling me that they weren’t?

    I’ve had these dreams. That I met a very very close friend who I haven’t seen in a very long time. My mom said I was laughing in my sleep. It was overall a good dream, but I wake up really sad and not very friendly. Not directly mean, just, not…outreaching. If you know what I mean. Do you know what they mean?     Hey, a lot of you have been asking, “why amen?” Just thought I’d share this with you – the word “amen” means “so be it”, so when we close a prayer with “In Jesus’ name, amen!”, what we mean is, “let it be done in Jesus’ name.” Also, another question I’ve seen a lot is, “what happens to babies who die? Well, the Bible does mention an “age of responsibility”, though it never says what specific age that is. Because the child is to young yet to comprehend the difference between right and wrong, it is my personal belief that God will not judge them, since his judgment falls on those who knew and yet refused. Since the children of that age are too young to know, God in His infinite mercy will not judge them for what they did not know.

Love can be a very finicky thing, and I know, whether its a girlfriend, a best friend, a relative, or some person, it can really hurt if both people don’t have the same idea’s in their head.     @ Jeremiah: Your explanation of “amen” reminds me of the movie “Come What May.” Oh, and John MacArthur wrote a really good book about the babies who die. I think it’s called “Safe in the Arms of Jesus,” or something like that. He gives a very sound explanation of what he believes, and it’s really helped me with that whole age-of-accountability thing. 🙂

Infact, yesterday I was having time to myself, listening to some beautiful songs on my CD player, folding clothes and making my bed, and you popped into my head. I was listening to the song “Choose” by Christy Nockels and you wouldn’t get out of my head. I started singing with all my heart, and just thought I should tell you to listen to the song. It was like I was singing for you, girl. I wanted you to be right there beside me, I knew we’d laugh and laugh, and talk forever. I thought about you for that entire hour I was cleaning my room. You have never been so heavily on my mind before. As I sang, I literally felt like I was gonna cry. I don’t know why. It just hit me all of a sudden and it was overwhelming. I prayed and prayed for you, Sasami.

    I love you so much, girl. And I cant really even begin to describe it, your just gonna have to believe me when I say it. 🙂 Your precious, and beautiful, and worth more than gold!

    My mission: To pray and pray and talk to God a lot about this whole dreaming about you thing…..I think it might just happen…..:)

When you said that thing about listening to a song and thinking of me, it reminded me of when I dug my bro’s LOTR books out of the garage and took them inside to devour. As I was walking across the living room, the thought hit me: “Kenzi should be beside me.” It was a revelation, almost, and whenever I open those books I think of you! It’s a beautiful memory, one that I treasure, like a priceless diamond of light. Which you are: God’s light, His little princess, gleaming white like Pure Snow. I love you, Kenzi.     Sasami: Awe. Your preciously sweet. You know, I did read your post to me, the one where you said you wanted to feel close to God, or something like you didn’t look forward to it or something, and I wanted to share something if that was okay. I was at the point where I didn’t really know how I felt about anything to do with Him. 13 was the most utterly hard year for me, and I know the enemy was just attacking me where I felt weakest. And on top of that, I was so sure that God was ignoring me. My favorite person in the world had just moved hours and hours away, my best friend was going in completely separate directions, there were very important, but painful things going on with my family, and my parents attention was gravitating to that. I would just cry in my room and listen to worship music, so confused and hurt inside, crying out to God with seemingly “no answer.” But as I look back at that, I realize how much I’ve changed, how much I’ve grown and matured. And I know that in the moment and times in my life that are completely alone and painful, God isn’t deserting me, He’s walking through that storm with me, and I’m gonna get to the other side. I just hadn’t found out how to feel Him. And I’m still learning. I make so many mistakes, I feel anything but strong sometimes…But most importantly, what I want more than anything is to not just eat the bread crumbs. I want more…I want everything that God has to give me, and I’m gonna take it, as a daughter of the most high King. In the song draw me close Michael sings, “Draw me close to you. Never let me go. I lay it all down again. To hear you say that I’m your friend. You are my desire, no one else will do. Cause nothing else can take your place. To feel the warm of your embrace. Help me find a way, bring me back to you. Your all I want. Your all I’ve ever needed. Your all I want. Help me know you are near.”
    Sometimes I felt resigned to God. Like where reading the bible was concerned. I didn’t feel like I wanted to pick it up, for it was never anything interesting or eye catching. I was never spoken to through there. I hardly found encouragement. I know how that feels, really. Sometimes we have to keep trying, hoping, EXPECTING, to see and have God talk to us. He wants to, we just need to learn how to listen. And we all are in this together. We’re all learning.
    But most importantly Sasami, I think you need to know something. When God says He loves you, He doesn’t only mean, “Oh, I love you.” *shrug* No, He really likes you, girl. He is extremely found of you. And He wants to spend time with you. He looks forward to it like a best friend would, waiting for them to arrive for a sleepover. Your such a gem to Him, your a precious jewel, and He wants to show you all the overflowing love for you that is in His heart. If we could all grasp that love, we would feel so complete. Knowing that nothing in the world matters, as long as we are with our God. Our Father. I hadn’t actually ever felt that love to the full extent until Monday, the MWS concert. He sang worship songs and my tears just poured. I felt like holding my arms in the air and sobbing. I felt so overwhelmed by that love, it was the best feeling in the world. I felt like I had died and gone to heaven. I want you to feel that Sasami. And I’m praying for that. I’m praying for you.

    I’m thirteen years old. Yes, I love photography! My neighbor has a granddaughter who comes to visit him every couple of months, and she wants to be a wildlife photographer when she grows up. Whenever she visits, I’m on cloud-nine! I mostly take pictures of flowers and cozy places. Oh, and here’s an excerpt from one of my stories. What do you think? (next comment).

    But I’m so going to miss you! When I found out you would be leaving, I felt so hollow and empty. Like a light went out in my head. I went around in a daze the rest of the day. I wanna cry, you’ll be leaving me, and I don’t know when I’ll see you again. But I have hope: you’ll come back. And this isn’t the end, Kenzi. This is just the beginning. One day I’ll see you again, if not here, than in Heaven.

    My two-year anniversary is August something-another. I’ll have to look it up. Oh, here we go: August 30th, 2012. My debut. 😛 And it’s only…a day before your birthday. Wow.
    Yes, we did get very close in record time. But it was easy: we both had interests in the same things. But you aren’t leaving me: your spirit, and the lessons you taught me, will always be in my heart. At first you were just someone who talked to me…and then you became a part of my life. My sister.
    I would so love to go to your blog, but….I….can’t. And it’s killing me. I have restrictions, and my parents don’t let me do stuff like that. But, I could ask. You never know. There is hope, dear, lots of hope.
    It’s like that scene in the Fellowship of the Ring, where Frodo decides to leave for Mordor, and Sam chases after him. There is hope for us. This isn’t the end; it’s just the beginning. And I’m sure that one day, we’ll meet.
    Whenever I listen to the music for that scene, I think of you.

    What does it mean to be “saved?” Does it mean that we automatically have Jesus’ salvation? That would seem to mean that we could behave badly without having to pay for it after death, which would mean we could technically do whatever we wanted with only possible earthly consequences, which do not always occur. God is just, and would not allow for that.

    Honestly, I wonder if Connie ever gets married, but about the Connie/Mitch thing. What I think is that the writters decided that they would show that God has different plans for us, you know? When we think we should do something (ex: Connie and Mitch deciding to get married), but God wants us to follow his perfect path (ex: them not getting married. So…I think its because God wants the best for us. That is just my opion.

    I have a question about salvation. My friend is about to accept Christ. She wants to accept Christ, but she’s worried about her family.     You see, Peter was asking him if someone sins against him, (in other words being mean to him), how many times should he forgive? He asked, “seven times?” and Jesus answered Not only seven times but seventy times seven! Which really always! Always forgive! 🙂
